Killer Mike - 2012

Killer Mike's career was in jeopardy. Following the very good PIIIedge, the Atlanta rapper's next album was going to be the make-or-break moment for the rest of his career. And so Mike did something to make sure his career would not only stay afloat, but get even better. He recruited innovative producer El-P to create every instrumental for the album. He upped his political game. He brought in some Atlanta legends (T.I., Bun B). The result? 12 tracks of brash, intelligence, high-powered, space-age political rap that made Yeezus look like an xx album. R.A.P. Music is the most important album of the decade so far, because it's Killer Mike standing up for an entire race through some of the best politically inspired tracks since Public Enemy blasted onto the scene with a similar sound over thirty years ago. Favorite tracks: Reagan, Big Beast Least Favorite tracks: Anywhere But Here Most overrated track: Don't Die most underrated track: JoJo's Chillin
